Kamakhya Health Organisation now officially holds a Guinness World Record for creating the World's Largest Sanitary Pad Mosaic, covering 169.97 square meters and using 18,400 pads. The event dated between Menstrual Hygiene Day and Environment Day, therefore indicating the direct connection between both the phenomena. Through the record, we aimed to break the stigma surrounding menstruation, along with promoting sustainability. To be able to do so, the theme of the event revolved around Sustainable Development Goals by the United Nations.
By collaborating with various organizations, we were able to tailor a varied range of sessions and activities. UNSDGs fit neatly with our vision of building a just and sustainable world. Post the world record attempt, multiple not-for-profit organizations joined hands with us and donated the 20,000+ biodegradable sanitary pads across the nation; thereby impacting all strata of society.
